Named after a catchphrase from a Malaysian classic movies, Laksamana Do Re Mi, the owners of this eatery Haswandi Hashim and his wife, Nur Hafizah Ahmad launched this humble stall two years ago. CNA reported that Haswandi has great admiration for the legendary actor, P. Ramlee and that is why he chose to name his stall based on one of his movies. Though it garnered little popularity in the beginning, now it is quickly gaining fame with their delicious dishes!

What makes La Porpo's fried chicken so crispy and delicious is that the owners make them with love. By combining both of their families' traditional recipes, they've created the ultimate fried chicken recipe which a touch of genuine love to make their customers happy and satisfied.

This restaurant offers delicious ayam penyet and ayam geprek, both of which are smashed fried chicken but the latter has spicy sambal covering the chicken generously to the bone while the former has the sambal on a side. Both are still full of flavour with just a slight difference to them. Bjorn Shen, in an Instagram post, compliments La Porpo by saying this is his favourite place to get ayam goreng and we can see why!

With the fried chicken, you can opt for green or blue rice (fun colours to elevate your nasi ayam experience) and there are three different types of spicy sambal for you to choose! They've got the famous sambal loca, sambal penyet and for sambal geprek, they mix the first two to create an explosion of sizzling flavours. Spicy food lovers and nasi ayam enthusiasts will stay longer for more plates ?

Other than fried chicken, they also serve prawn and fish geprek along with Indonesian style Bakso and a special Mee Asam Laksa but people still flock to the eatery to devour their juicy and golden brown chicken with spicy sambal.

La Porpo should definitely be your next stop if you're craving for fresh fried chicken straight from the hot wok with mouth-watering spicy sambal that'll blow your taste buds!
