1. Picnic at MoMo’s Kuala Lumpur

MoMo’s hotel has been the It spot for many events including markets, karaoke night and eating competitions. This July, the social hotel has transformed its room into a bright, airy space complete with an adorable teepee where you could pretend you’re camping outdoors. Perfect for the ‘gram! You can book a room for a maximum of four people, and yes, kids are welcome too! 

The private picnic setup also comes with specially curated menu bundles for any occasion, including It’s a Date, Fiesta, and Count the Candles. 2. Make your own clay wares at Good Times DIY Pottery Studio

Recreate your own (halal) Ghost scene by joining a pottery class at Good Times DIY Pottery Studio at Paradigm Mall. There is something magical about creating something with your hands, especially one that you could use and display in your home!

3. Sip and paint at Art & Bonding Painting Studio

You don’t have to drink alcohol to enjoy this painting class! Bring out your inner Vincent Van Gogh at the sip and paint session at the Art & Bonding Painting Studio. All the art tools and materials are all prepared for you so all you have to do is pick up the paintbrushes and unleash your artistic skills. Don’t worry, the class is suitable for everyone so don’t worry about not being a great artist there. Just drink, paint, and have fun!

4. Check out the arts at Ilham Art Gallery

Allow your mind to wander through the different mediums of art at Ilham Art Gallery. The Ilham Art Gallery presents various Malaysian modern and contemporary arts and you don’t have to be a fan of art to appreciate the art pieces. In 2022, there’s an inaugural ILHAM Art Show ongoing until 23 October 2022 where you get the chance to explore more mind-blowing works from Malaysian artists. Admission is also FREE so do check it out!

6. Play badminton in the dark

Think badminton can only be played on a court? Try playing it in the dark! The first-ever glow-in-the-dark badminton experience will allow you to smash glowing shuttlecocks with fluorescent racquets. It’ll be a lit badminton session!

Dance to the rhythm of K-pop as you roll at RollerWa, a Korean-themed indoor roller skate rink. With your favourite K-pop songs playing out loud in the background, this will be the best spot to have a blast as a K-pop fan and also roller-skaters out there!

6. Join a weaving workshop at Kedai KL

Kedai KL is one of the best spots in Kuala Lumpur to spend time at. There are a number of small local brands selling their wares such as a bookshop, bath and body products as well as cafes where you can enjoy a cuppa or two. This weekend, there is a weaving workshop happening on Sunday, 24 July 2022 at Kedai KL. You can choose to either join the keychain weaving workshop or the bag strap weaving workshop. All materials will be provided. It’ll be a fun workshop to do with your friends!

7. Enjoy an orchestral performance

After a two-year long pause, there is no stopping the klpac Orchestra. The klpac Orchestra is set to mesmerise music lovers with Tchaikovsky – The Great Romantic Master under the baton of Music Director and Resident Conductor Lee Kok Leong. The concert opens with one of Tchaikovsky’s most well-known piano concertos – Piano Concerto No. 1 in Bb Minor, Op. 23 performed by concert pianist Dr Elaine Yap Sin Yee. The concert then follows with the romantic Symphony No. 1 in G minor, Op. 13, widely known as Winter Daydreams. Don’t miss this chance to experience the beauty of Tchaikovsky’s music up close and understand what makes him one of the greatest composers of all time.
